Simply Quiz | 2020

Quiz for…  a night with friends (Facetime or Zoom would work well), drinks on a Saturday night (or daytime, I wont judge), sipping tea on a Sunday afternoon with the family, or any damn time you want to do a quiz.

So lets keep this simple – click here for the answers. Follow on reading for the rules and the quiz itself – you can follow the rules if you want, but if you don’t I wont cry (I probably will, I worked really hard on this).

General rules:

  • 10 rounds plus a bonus round
  • 10 questions per round (1 point per correct answer) plus bonus question worth 2 points
  • All questions in bonus round worth 2 points
  • 1 minute per question (optional but preferable, you wont want this to drag when you get to round 8)

Want to make it a drinking game (better for groups of 4-8)?

  • Whiteboards (optional but ideal)
  • Choose a quizmaster to ask the questions (preferably the designated driver or the person who can handle their alcohol the best)
  • Players write down their answers and show them after each question
  • Those who get a question wrong takes a shot
  • Quizmaster keeps tally of players points
  • Loser at the end of each round must take a shot/drink 3 fingers
  • Loser of the entire game must ‘down’ their drink
  • Winner of  the game is able to give out 10 shots and 1 drink to any player (including the quizmaster)
    • i.e. 5 shots and the drink to the quizmaster, 2 shots to player three, 1 shot to player four, and 2 shots to player one

Round 1 – Name the Celeb

Here are 10 really bad (I mean awful!) descriptions of celebrities, plus a bonus question.

  1. National treasure, soothing voice, likes nature, must be protected at all costs.
  2. Most improved on the ice, took the ‘Mickey’ on the East End, king of the jungle.
  3. Miss Americana, counter-sued for 1 dollar, got some bad blood but is delicate.
  4. Blonde hair, orange, likes walls.
  5. Broke the internet in a black bin bag, lost an earring, snake emoji.
  6. Has seven rings, one love, killer voice, little stature.
  7. You get a quiz question, you get a quiz question ,and you get a quiz question.
  8. Chicken bhuna, lamb bhuna and prawn bhuna, mushroom rice, bag of chips, keema naan and 9 poppadoms
  9. Potty mouth, alright cook, owns some restaurants and stuff, has a lot of nightmares.
  10.  If you mix red and white you get their name, iconic, great mother, family portrait.
  11. BONUS: Grandude! Spends a penny on penny lane, says hey to Jude.

Round 2 – Who Said That

Here are 10 quotes, plus a hint (if you need it, you could be super clever), plus a bonus question.

Here are lyrics from 10 songs – name the song for one point and the artist for a second point, plus a bonus question (2 points for song, 2 points for artist).
