5 Fab Things – September 2019

If you’re having one of those weeks – like me! – here are five fab things that I have found out about recently that brought me a little bit of happiness…

  1. Decorative Titles

Lady Georgina… has a ring to it doesn’t it?

Well, I recently found out that I can bag myself a decorative title through Groupon! And all for the small fee of £12.99 (46% off).

So, what’s included?

  • Lord or Lady of Chaol Ghleann title
  • One square foot of pasture in the grounds of Dunans Castle
  • Deed of entitlement – signed and sealed in a presentation folder
  • PDF with deeds of entitlement
  • Tour of the grounds
  • The right to wear Dunans Rising Tartan – a stunning purple and green tartan

The funds raised from this decorative title contributes to the preservation of Dunans Castle, plus the maintenance of woodland and biodiverse landscape containing local rare species. Overall a good cause and a snazzy new title.

  1. Bournville Buttons

Bournville is arguably one of the best chocolates and they recently released their giant button version of this classic treat (aka little drops of heaven) and they have proven very popular, especially in my work place. I also found out that they are vegan-friendly, who knew?!

Many places are doing the big sharer bags for £1 – grab yourself a packet, pop the kettle on and put your feet up – you won’t be disappointed!!

You can also pick up a bag on your weekly shop at Tesco.

  1. We Are Knitters

I’m a bit of a serial hobbyist so I was not surprised when Instagram started showing sponsored posts for a wide range of activities like knitting, jewel by numbers, etc. But there was one specific brand that really caught my eye – We Are Knitters or WAK.

What I loved about this company is the fact you can buy ‘kits’ and filter down by experience and they give you everything you need to make the finished product, and you get to personalise the items to a degree including the colour, size and the language that you need the instructions in – all at a reasonable price!

I think my first project will be this Sian Ka’an Cardigan in black.

  1. Barbour Wilton Wellingtons

The weather is set to be horrid in the UK for the next week so it is time to dust of the best wellies I have ever owned – Barbour Wilton Wellingtons.

If you’ve ever used the term ’walking on clouds’ you will repeat it to everyone you see when you wear these, they are made for comfort with an elastic accent that allows you a little bit more movement and the trademark Barbour tartan lining for that little something extra.

I got mine in black, but if you’re feeling adventurous, they come in a variety of colours!

Grab yours here for just £49.95

  1.   Tanqueray Flor de Sevilla

Hands down one of the best gins I have tried recently! You can taste the subtle taste of the Sevilla oranges – I found it nicest with tonic and twist of Lemon but here’s a recipe from the Diageo Bar Academy that is sure to tickle your taste buds…

Tanqueray Sevilla Spritz

  • 50 ml Tanqueray Flor de Sevilla
  • 50ml Schweppes/Fever Tree Lemonade
  • 100ml Prosecco
  • Orange wheel
